Stop by any local Omni Financial branch office and you’ll find that many of our employees are former military service members. We are proud of our veteran workforce and believe that no one understands the military better than the people who have served.
But Omni isn’t the only company to realize how much veterans have to offer the workplace. Many other businesses have taken notice of the fact that our nation’s heroes have leadership and team building skills and a wealth of experience that benefit all types of civilian careers. The following is a list of just a few global companies that hire veterans.
Global Companies that Hire Veterans
The global coffee company and coffee retailer Starbucks has committed to hiring at least 10,000 veterans (and military spouses) by the end of 2018. The company acknowledges the skills and experience of our nation’s heroes and puts that recognition into initiatives that help veterans find jobs and transition to civilian life. Howard Schultz, chairman, president and chief executive of Starbucks said that “Transitioning U.S. veterans and military spouses share our mission-driven sensibility and work ethic and can build long-term careers at Starbucks as they return home.” Veteran and military spouses who are seeking employment, can visit the Starbucks website to see current job openings and read some job search tips.
The Walt Disney Company
Heroes Work Here is a Disney commitment to hiring and supporting military veterans. Now in its third year, the company-wide initiative has resulted in 5,000 veteran hires at Disney. Heroes Work Here encourages other companies to hire veterans as well. Through week-long workshops that educate companies on how to create or improve their existing veteran programs, Disney has helped an additional 5,000 veterans obtain employment. The company makes it easy for veterans to match their skills and expertise with jobs. Veterans can visit the Heroes Work Here career page and select their prior military occupation to find a Disney career match.
