The Best Warrior competition is a contest of the best of the best that the United States Army has to offer. Each participant is challenged both physically and mentally. The stages of this competition include
The physical fitness test pushes a service member to their limits. Designed to test the muscular strength, endurance, and cardiovascular respiratory fitness of service members in the Army. They are scored based on their performance in three events consisting of the push-up, sit-up, and a two-mile run.
Testing the service member’s’ aptitude the board and essay portion of the competition has them writing an essay and presenting it to a board of higher ranking officials.

The 12 mile tactical foot march tests the service members endurance while carrying all their supplies.
a series of challenging physical obstacles the service member must navigate while being timed. The Obstacle course can include running, climbing, jumping, crawling, swimming, and balancing elements with the aim of testing speed and endurance. Sometimes the course involves mental tests.
