5k Run for Veterans 2019

The Northern New York Veteran’s Outreach Center will once again be conducting their 6th Annual 5k Run for Veterans on Sunday, May 19th at Thompson Park in Watertown, NY. This event is put together to raise funds for programs that assist veterans in need, in the Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties. Omni is honored to partner with the Northern New York Veteran’s Outreach Center, and joining the jog again this year.

The Northern New York Veterans Outreach Center was founded in 1973 by returning Vietnam Veterans. It has remained a cornerstone in the community and offers a comprehensive portfolio of supportive services designed to meet the needs of veterans and their families. All of their programs and services are provided free of charge.

Last year’s event went very well. With over 120 runners participating, there was plenty of excitement around the course. All registered runners were given a race t-shirt for their participation. There were great giveaways, and raffles to win great prizes.  We were delighted to be involved and to support this community activity. Our Evans Mills General Manager David was also able to reconnect with an old battle buddy whom he had served with in both Iraq and Afghanistan who was also at the event.
