Mother’s Day may be May 12, but we at Omni are proud to honor the moms who work to support the Omni mission on our team every single day. We’re delighted to have many of them as part of our Omni family and salute these three amazing Omni matriarchs from our Fort Lee, VA, Fort Polk, LA, and Fort Riley, KS offices.
A Personal Connection
For Mother’s Day, here are three moms who go above and beyond to help our military community.
Most Omni moms do have a personal connection to the military – whether it’s serving our country themselves, supporting a spouse who is serving, or encouraging their children who are serving. This is certainly the case with the moms on our Omni team who are committed to helping the community with Omni.
Joyce Riley, a Customer Care Specialist at our Prince George, VA office, has plenty of experience with family members who are in the military. “My spouse served 12 years in the Army. My son served four years in the Army, and my daughter is currently a member of the Navy team in Portsmouth, Virginia.”
Customer Care Specialist Vanessa Cortez in our Leesville, LA office also is a military spouse. Her husband is currently active duty with the Army, and they are stationed at Fort Polk.
Compassion, Knowledge, and Empathy
Joyce, Vanessa, and Omni’s other military-affiliated moms bring an extra level of understanding and compassion to their jobs, especially when they are interacting with our customers. After all, they know firsthand the financial challenges military families face. We value that compassion, knowledge, and empathy they bring to our company and our customers every single day they serve on our team.
“I enjoy working at Omni because it is the perfect place to fulfill my desire to help others who encounter financial situations,” Joyce said. “I have been equipped with the appropriate tools to aid these individuals through these times, and it gives me joy to be able to assist them.”
Joyce is a retired telecommunications worker who wanted “to find a position that would allow me to use my years of experience interacting with people.” Now, she goes above and beyond to assist and advise our customers with their financial needs.
Nicole Hayes, a Customer Care Specialist at our Junction City, Kansas office, said she joined Omni because “I love interacting with people, building that relationship with them, and being able to help them with their financial needs.”
Nicole said the atmosphere at Omni is so “welcoming and friendly,” making it a great company to work for.
Having a work/life balance was key for Vanessa when searching for a job and finding us nine months ago. Omni “allows me to balance being a working woman, mother, and military spouse.” She acknowledges that being a part of the Omni team is enjoyable because it “gives me an opportunity to continue being a part of the working world and being an independent woman.”
