The Best Warrior competition is a contest of the best of the best that the United States Army has to offer. Each participant is challenged both physically and mentally. The stages of this competition include:
Best Warrior Competition Test 2017
Physical fitness test
The physical fitness test pushes a service member to their limits. Designed to test the muscular strength, endurance, and cardiovascular respiratory fitness of service members in the Army. They are scored based on their performance in three events consisting of the push-up, sit-up, and a two-mile run.
Board and Essay
Testing the service member’s’ aptitude the board and essay portion of the competition has them writing an essay and presenting it to a board of higher ranking officials.
Mystery Events
Testing adaptability the mystery events keeps service members on their toes by testing them in random situations
Foot March
The 12 mile tactical foot march tests the service members endurance while carrying all their supplies.
Obstacle Course
a series of challenging physical obstacles the service member must navigate while being timed. The Obstacle course can include running, climbing, jumping, crawling, swimming, and balancing elements with the aim of testing speed and endurance. Sometimes the course involves mental tests.
M4 Qualification
Test that pushes the service member’s technique with the M4 Assault rifle
M9 Qualification
Test that pushes the service member’s technique with the M9 Beretta semi automatic pistol
Mystery Box of Guns
A box of weapons is given to the service member which they must assemble and arm while being timed.
M4 Night Qualification
Test that pushes the service member’s technique with the M4 Assault rifle at night
Daybreak Land Navigation
Testing the service members navigational awareness at sun rise.
Combat Skills Testing
testing the service members prowess at hand to hand competition.
