The 4th of July is a special day in American history. On this day in 1775 this great nation of ours became independent. Granting us freedom and the opportunity to growing into the 50 glorious states that we are today. We commemorate this by throwing a huge celebration complete with BBQs of burgers, hotdogs and ribs. The music is playing all day long while the children run and play.
The the sun starts to set, then that is when the real fun begins. The night sky is lit up with an extraordinary fireworks show. Pyrotechnics cover the sky in red, blue, yellow, green and so many other colors that drop the jaws of all those who are watching.
There is no Independence Day Celebration like one on a Military Base. There is a stronger sense of patriotism and pride that our service members exude that makes this festival even greater. Omni had the honor of sponsoring Independence Day events on military bases across the country.
Lakewood,WA/Joint Base Lewis – McChord
This year JBLM held a smaller event to better focus its service members and give military families much more attention. So many activities to enjoy like the Classy Chassis Car Show, carnival rides and live entertainment from The Voice stars Vicci Martinez and Mycle Wastmanas well as American Idol Runner up Blake Lewis. And lets not forget the reason why we’re all here, the fireworks show. No one can do fireworks quite like a military base.
Augusta, GA/Fort Gordon
The city of Grovetown, GA caters to a large community of military personnel. With Fort Gordon so close, Grovetown does what it can for the servicemembers living both on base and in Grovetown to feel welcomed and appreciated. This year’s 4th of July celebration was no different. A huge banquet of food was available for everyone to enjoy. As well as bouncy houses and a ton of games for the kids to enjoy. The main attraction was the incredible fireworks display which lit up the night sky. A spectacular display of pyrotechnics which left everyone in awe.
Newport News, VA/Joint Base Langley – Eustis
The Independence Day Celebration on JBLE is held this year on Forth Worth, The festivities begin at 1800 with amazing activities such as an array of food vendors, Community Exhibitors and lets not forget the fireworks show. A live concert will be held by Heritage of America.
Fayetteville, NC/Fort Bragg
Killeen, TX/Fort Bliss
Fort Hood the largest military installation in the United States holds nothing back with its celebration of Independence Day. This year Freedom Fest began at 1300 enjoying free entertainment, sponsored booths, fabulous foods and drinks followed by a breathtaking 30 minute firework display accompanied with patriotic music. This event is open to the public with t he expected attendance over 15,000 in attendance.
