5k Run for Veterans 2019
The Northern New York Veteran’s Outreach Center will once again be conducting their 6th Annual 5k Run for Veterans on Sunday, May 19th at Thompson Park in Watertown, NY. This event is put together to raise funds for programs that assist veterans in need, in the Jefferson, Lewis, and St. Lawrence counties. Omni is honored to partner with the Northern New York Veteran’s Outreach Center, and joining the jog again this year.
The Northern New York Veterans Outreach Center was founded in 1973 by returning Vietnam Veterans. It has remained a cornerstone in the community and offers a comprehensive portfolio of supportive services designed to meet the needs of veterans and their families. All of their programs and services are provided free of charge.
Last year’s event went very well. With over 120 runners participating, there was plenty of excitement around the course. All registered runners were given a race t-shirt for their participation.There were great giveaways, and raffles to win great prizes. We were delighted to be involved and to support this community activity. Our Evans Mills General Manager David was also able to reconnect with an old battle buddy whom he had served with in both Iraq and Afghanistan who was also at the event.
The Northern New York Veteran’s Outreach Center needs volunteers for this event. Volunteers will assist in directing runners on the race course. Let’s make a difference together.

5k Run for Veterans 2018
The New York Veteran’s Outreach Center conducted their 5th Annual 5k Run for Veterans and Omni was along for the jog! Held on Sunday, May 20th at Thompson Park in Watertown, NY to raise money for the center.
Founded in 1973 by returning Vietnam Veterans, today’s Veterans Outreach Center remains anchored in the community and offers a comprehensive portfolio of supportive services designed to meet the needs of veterans and their families. Through the generosity of the community, all of their programs and services are provided free of charge. Providing comprehensive resources to current and former members of the U.S. Armed Forces and their families through direct service, community collaboration, and advocacy.
The 5k Race saw over 100 participants, helping the Veteran’s outreach center raise money to help those veterans in the Watertown and Fort Drum Community. We at Omni are honored to help participate in such an incredible cause and look forward to next years event!
