A Hero Flight Mission for a Desert Storm Veteran

A Hero Flight Mission for a Desert Storm Veteran

As a seasoned volunteer for Veteran’s Airlift Command (VAC), Andre Bohy knows what it means to drop everything and help a hero in need.  So, when presented by the VAC with an opportunity to fly another VAC priority medical mission, Andre didn’t hesitate to take on the mission. The mission was to provide transportation by flying a marine veteran and his wife from Boston, MA., back to their home in Rochester, NY.

This mission helps USMC Col Geoffrey Feltner, who proudly served in the Marine Corps for 30 years and deployed numerous times throughout his career.  He served in Desert Storm, spent time in the Philippines and in Norway.  Jane Feltner, his wife, has been managing a cancer diagnosis. Geoff and his wife Jane have been traveling back and forth to Boston, MA from Rochester, NY for several months receiving lifesaving treatment for Jane’s cancer diagnosis.  She is immunocompromised and therefore cannot travel commercially in a busy airport environment or in the confines of a commercial airline cabin.

Upon accepting the above mission, Andre donated his time to do this VAC mission on October 28th 2022. We at Omni Financial® were more than happy to assist and pay for the fuel used in this heroic flight. Also supporting this mission are Signature Flight Support in Bedford, MA and AVflight in Rochester, NY, these two companies were supportive of the mission and were able to waive fees and offered fuel discounts for the plane.

VAC is an organization that provides free air transportation to veterans, they make it possible for wounded military personnel, veterans, and their families to travel long distances free of charge. The Veteran’s Airlift Command and its volunteer pilots proudly provided free transportation to the Feltners. Omni Financial is honored to support Andre in this VAC mission.
